Founded
In 1985, LeMans Chemicals began its journey in Cape Town with a straightforward goal: create a multi-purpose cleaner and degreaser that worked better than what was available. Our founder, a passionate local from George, is a former active race car driver who recognized the need for powerful cleaning solutions in the automotive world.
Tired of harsh, ammonia-based products, our founder developed Kwiksolve (Registered Trade Mark No: 99/03536)—a safer, more effective solution for engines, kitchens, and workshops. Its ammonia-free formula quickly gained traction locally, becoming a favorite for households, automotive shops, and restaurants.
By 1991, demand led us to expand to George and Mossel Bay, while continuing to serve our loyal Cape Town clients. Two years later, Kwiksolve has successfully passed the rigorous tests set by the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS), including Tests 1828 (Food Industry) and 1344 (Industrial Sector), ensuring it meets the highest requirements and standards. These milestones reinforced our commitment to quality without compromise.
